A Post-Holiday Food Review

Christmas and Thanksgiving are two seperate events but my memory's all muddled because basically the food's still the same. There's still turkey much like any momentous occasion in the Philippines is graced by the presence of the Lechon. Sadly lechon here is not lechon. It's more like a whole pig turned into lechon kawali but the overall atmosphere is still the same, the table is filled with different dishes and the folks gather round to get a taste of each dish carefully prepared by the host. And although we have the mashed potato, no one ever ever ever forgets the rice. It's still the number one best-seller in this feast.

Here's a tip, if by any chance you have a friend or relative who goes abroad for the holidays, never ever comment on how much weight they've gained.
