Art and Self-Doubt

Today is the start of yet another design class. I’ve resolved to make web and graphic design my niche even though I sometimes lack confidence in my own work. I’m going to invest and purchase our required readings, try to read and absorb all the style rules I’m supposed to know by heart. I felt a little despondent but my sister reminded me that my grades are pretty good for someone who’s new to design. She made me read Brahma Kumaris’ New Year Message of 2012, here’ an excerpt:

Perhaps less visible, but assuredly more powerful, is the ascending energy. Like new growth below the ground in late winter, ascending energy is working quietly in the hearts and minds of people everywhere, shaping a new story. I’m feeling better after reading the entire message, so here’s to ascending energy, I hope you too affiliate yourselves with ascending energy. I hope you also like this digital doodle I made using a kid’s app.

I don't have a decent pen tool and a decent drawing application for my tablet so everything's limited to childish drawings. It's fun though! And oh, I also plan to pursue film production and photography too. But for now I want to excel in design. I hope I get better everyday! Better get back to finishing my project in Illustrator.
