On The Road: Delta

Finally the sun did shine! I walked to my friend’s school which was just a few blocks down from mine. I was only going to borrow his book, The Perks of Being a Wallflower when we spontaneously decided to go on a roadtrip.

We took a sidetrip to the casino just to see if security would believe we were over 19 even with our two IDs (they did but it took a longer glance at our IDs).

We hopped on the first bus that was ready to go and found ourselves in South Delta.

There is always something nostalgic with sunlight streaming through a bus window.

Train tracks that went on and on.

Open wide lawns and white houses made me pine for one.

We saw so many caterpillars! Never go through a bush!

Going home, for most of the ride, there were only four passengers. We dozed off while listening to music from A's ipod.

It felt exciting, unnerving and exhilarating all at the same time. Just the thought that you had no idea where you were off to, or what you would see, the thought of dropping everything even for a day made it almost like an adventure of a lifetime.Yes, I really had to say that because we’ve both been too focused in school and have no social lives, at all.

We were laughing hard because we were in mock panic about how there seemed to be less people of racial mix the farther the bus got. Our imaginations got a little too excited on stuff movies churn out about the more rural areas and the Ku Klux Clan.

But really, everyone was nice, the bus driver wondered if we were lost and we told him we were only on a roadtrip.

Anyway, if you feel down or lost or uninspired, drop everything and hop on a bus to somewhere you’ve never been before! Just make sure you’re with someone/you’ve told someone where you’re going. Safety precautions and all, other than that… LIVE/LEAVE!
