Super Saturday's Shoot

last saturday was my first ever commissioned make-up gig. It was a photoshoot for a thesis. I’m relieved that Jem was happy with her make-up (both for natural and dramatic). 

After our 8-hour shoot I had another one lined up, this one I got to be the photographer for a jazz band. I felt scared because the studio they practiced at had really bad lighting and it was hard to move around.  

After saying our goodbyes to the band, our writer informed me that we had another shoot for a dimsum place. It took me by surprise but we went there anyway. I really enjoyed the interview and the free taste. The staff kept handing me samples. 

That entire saturday was a challenge, my initial feelings were of fear and anxiety but my family told me it was a good thing because it meant I was being pushed against the wall and out of my comfort zone.

Today I had another assignment, this time with other press people. That saturday “training” was a very big help because I feel more comfortable now with myself and my camera even when I’m beside photographers toting huge lenses and expensive gear. The other photographers seemed really nice too although I wasn’t able to talk to them.
